Poetry as Mindfulness Practice

Join us for a poetry workshop on Poetry as Mindfulness Practice.

We'll read poems that help walk us into mindfulness and talk about the many ways that the reading (and writing) of poetry and be a way to center or reflect. . . can be a form of mindfulness.

Through listening, doodling, journaling, and writing, we'll explore what you like about the poems or how they speak to you.

This free poetry workshop will be held Saturday, June 15th from 3 to 5 p.m. at The Art Hunger/Viva Downtown located at 1504 Market St, Redding, CA 96001 in the conference room.

Ginko | Haiku nature Walk

Haiku is a popular form of writing poetry around the world today. Originating from Japan, it is the practice of observing & noticing moments in nature, writing and crafting very short poems and sharing with others. A Ginko Walk is simply a walk in nature with the intention to observe, write, gather with others to share. It is fun, peaceful and can be enjoyed by anyone wishing to be still, enjoy nature, write & share. We meet at the Sundial Bridge, Redding (Turtle Bay Museum end) at 10am - 12pm, Sunday April 21st 2024. Bring drinking water, a notebook and pencil (or your phone). For more info contact Andrew at piedhilllprawns@gmail.com, www.shastaartscoucil.org/wordsforall, or shastapoets.wordpress.com
