The Shasta County Arts Council is proud to present a thrilling evening of Taiko drumming as part of the World Beats Concert Series, featuring Shasta Taiko with special guest artists Masato Baba and Shoji Kameda.

DUNIYA is an exciting world fusion band which seamlessly weaves musical elements from around the world into a unique blend of soul stirring sound. Definitely guaranteed to move your body, mind, and spirit.

Effortlessly blending ancient and modern musical elements from Africa, India, and the Americas DUNIYA plays with a rich and rarely heard palette of rhythmic and instrumental combinations and musical sensibilities.

DUNIYA features the amazingly talented, Grammy nominated singer and flautist Srishti Biyani Oswal on East Indian Bansuri flute and vocals. 

The groups founder is Greg Fletcher who  composes the music and plays a West African harp called the Kamelengoni.  Ben Isaacs, aka "professor slap" brings his fiery brand of African percussion to the group. Rob Holland brings a lifetime of musical experience to the bass as drummer Max Rea masterfully steers the rhythmical ship which is DUNIYA.
