Nancy Hill | Executive Director
Nancy Hill recently retired from an exemplary thirty-five-year career teaching music including Choral and Instrumental music, Dance, Theatre, and Culinary Arts in the Anderson Union High School District. She has also taught technical theatre at Shasta College and headed up the South Shasta County Youth Arts/Shasta County Children’s Chorus as Artistic Director. Prior to her retirement from AUHSD, Nancy assumed the role of Executive Director for the newly-created Axiom Repertory Theatre, while also serving as vocal director of the choir for Pilgrim Congregational Church. Nancy has a strong vision for continuing SCAC’s tradition of exceptional service to the local arts community while implementing her strong and defined vision to continue its growth as a premier arts council in Northern California.
Agata Maruszewski | Art and Grants Coordinator
Agata joined Shasta County Arts Council in 2012. At the time, a recent graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland, she was thrilled to engage with an arts advocacy organization. Maruszewski has previously gained some experience in the arts non-profit sector and has also interned at some prominent museums in Poland. At Shasta County Arts Council, she curates and programs the Old City Hall gallery, and coordinates many of the SCAC programs. Agata holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture, and a Master of Fine Arts in Art Critique and Art Promotion.
Racheal Newman | Media and Marketing Coodinator
Racheal has a long history with the arts, starting in grade school where she participated in both concert and marching band. She branched out to content creation, graphic design and musical theater in highschool, working with both the school newspaper and the Music Department. After graduation she continued volunteering with musical theater, making costumes and props for South Shasta County Youth Arts and eventually sitting on their board as secretary for 3 years. More recently she has volunteered at Axiom Repertory Theatre as their Lounge Director. While she has dabbled in every art form she can, her original love of words and graphic design has led her to Shasta County Arts Council, where she hopes to learn more about content creation and social media management.
Daniel Hill | Multimedia Specialist and Site Services Coordinator
Daniel Hill is SCAC’s Multimedia Specialist and Site Services Coordinator. His goal is to create dynamic content that highlights the art and culture of Shasta County. Daniel brings a unique artistic vision, with a degree in Society and Environment from UC Berkeley, and years of experience in Music, Acting, Videography, Digital Editing and much more.
Susan Emerson | Resident Artist & Classes Coordinator
Susan Emerson has a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She joined the Shasta County Arts Council in 2000. In that time she has shared her life long love of art as an event coordinator and a classroom coordinator and teacher. Susan has worked with Americore Vista on economic development for artists. She has also used her formal training on safety in the arts with artists in general.

Amy Fish | Volunteer & Patron Coordinator
Amy Fish has a long history of involvement in the arts and the non-profit sector. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelors of the arts degree in Theatre Arts and has worked for a variety of non-profit organizations over the past 25 years. In her current position at the Arts Council, Amy works with our patrons and volunteers. She is also an active volunteer with a local non-profit community theatre company.

Artists in Residence
Sharon Brisolara | Resident Artist & Words for All Coordinator
Dr. Sharon Brisolara, an educator, writer, poet, certified Mind Body Medicine (MBM) practitioner, and Resilience and Equity Coach. During her career, she has created opportunities for people to connect with, see the value and power of, and articulate their stories. She has created Open Mic spaces and poetry workshops designed to be inclusive. She co-wrote and led a California Youth Speaks grant, Being Seen: Native Youth on Culture, Identity, and Justice. She recently led the Poetry component of a California Creative Corps grant and is the Spoken and Written Word Artist of Residence at Shasta County Arts Council. With her guidance we will curate and compensate local writers for original works for use during our festival.
