The Shasta County Arts Council is proud to present "Wabi Sabi", a unique art exhibition running June 6–28, 2025, at the Old City Hall Gallery in downtown Redding. Curated by local artist Eric Nanson, this group show brings together ten regional artists whose work reflects the spirit of Wabi Sabi—a Japanese aesthetic and philosophy that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity.
Wabi Sabi embraces the organic and the ephemeral—natural materials, weathered textures, and the quiet elegance of the incomplete. Visitors will experience artworks that honor the passage of time and the richness found in flaws and transience.
The featured artists include:
Eric Nanson, David Grimm Gentry, Harvey Spector, Michi Takemoto, Paul Rideout, Steven Durow, Stella Prudhomme, Terry Hankins, Torri Pratt, and Jeffrey Jon Gluck.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 6th from 5–8 PM, offering the public an opportunity to meet the artists and explore the exhibit. The event is free and open to all.
Gallery hours are Tuesday–Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Shasta County Arts Council's Old City Hall Gallery, located in the heart of downtown Redding at 1313 Market St.
