Join us for the opening reception of a new art show coming to Shasta Arts Council – Old City Hall on Friday, September 28 from 5pm to 7pm!

Presenting work of Gregory Moll and Michael Madden.

“In my early years, I found a love of art and encouragement from other to develop that love. It gave me purpose and an outlet to express myself and what I knew as life,” says Gregory Moll. “So after taking an almost 20-year break from art, I decided it was time to get back to my love and passion of creating art.”

Michael Madden is a Pacific Northwest native who is a mostly self-taught artist. He has spent the better part of his life in the arts. He flourishes in figurative abstract art utilizing various bright colors with geometrical overtones. He is influenced by jazz music and significant moments in his life. His work has been show at the Not Terminal Gallery in Seattle, Seattle Art Gallery which showcased African-American artists of the Northwest, Calm Rain Gallery and at Festival Sundiata at the Seattle Center.
Michael’s art has been influenced by Rose Piper, Charles Alston, Robert Cummings and Romare Bearden.

 

Show runs: September 28 – November 2

Gallery hours: Tue-Thu, noon – 5pm. Fridays, noon – 6pm. 4th Saturday of the month: 11am – 3pm
