Join Shasta Arts Council for a great exhibition featuring unique works of Eric Nanson.
Eric Nanson’s works are known for the artist’s imaginative interpretation of function and form, often with a healthy dose of humor. All of his works exhibit mastery of techniques the artist works in, be it woodworking, metal sculpture, photography, or furniture design.
Opening night – Friday, August 6, from 5pm – 6pm. Part of First Fridays Downtown.
Show runs: August 6 – September 25.
New, extended gallery hours: Tuesday – Friday, noon – 7pm. Gallery is open EVERY Saturday, 10am – 3pm.

“A year ago, today” – artists share their stories in multi-media exhibition
Shasta County Arts Council held an open call to artists to submit works that reflected on the happenings of “A year ago, today”.
“We suggested a topic we hoped was evocative and at the same time open to interpretation. We are very happy with the level of response our call for art received and are looking forward to inviting visitors to view the exhibition we have assembled,” says curator Agata Maruszewski.
The exhibition includes paintings on canvas, woodworking, photography, drawings, mixed media, graphic design, and music video.
Featured artists are Michael Eichwald, Tim Havens, Erin Friedman, Zechari Cole, Lura Wilhelm, Jerry Cousins, Tamara Watson, Pia Gregan, Amy Cole, Caryn Stromberg, Sierra Carnegie, Katie Davidson, Lauren Forcella, Susan Emerson and Jim Geil. Most of the works will be available to purchase.
The show opens on Friday, June 4 and is part of Downtown Redding First Fridays, with gallery open from noon until 8pm.
Regular gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday, noon – 5pm. 4th Saturday of month – 11am – 3pm.
Show runs through July 24.
Old City Hall is also participating in First Fridays Downtown! Open on First Friday of the month until 8pm, featuring live art demos and activities, live music.
