“A year ago, today” – artists share their stories in multi-media exhibition

Shasta County Arts Council held an open call to artists to submit works that reflected on the happenings of “A year ago, today”.

“We suggested a topic we hoped was evocative and at the same time open to interpretation. We are very happy with the level of response our call for art received and are looking forward to inviting visitors to view the exhibition we have assembled,” says curator Agata Maruszewski.

The exhibition includes paintings on canvas, woodworking, photography, drawings, mixed media, graphic design, and music video.

Featured artists are Michael Eichwald, Tim Havens, Erin Friedman, Zechari Cole, Lura Wilhelm, Jerry Cousins, Tamara Watson, Pia Gregan, Amy Cole, Caryn Stromberg, Sierra Carnegie, Katie Davidson, Lauren Forcella, Susan Emerson and Jim Geil. Most of the works will be available to purchase.

The show opens on Friday, June 4 and is part of Downtown Redding First Fridays, with gallery open from noon until 8pm.

Regular gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday, noon – 5pm. 4th Saturday of month – 11am – 3pm.

Show runs through July 24.
