New Frontier Theatre Company’s Bennett Gale performs one-man drama “Chronicles of Oggle”, written by Peter Gowen.

Comments by the Author, Peter Gowen:
“I am so delighted to be associated with New Frontier Theatre Company in the American Premier of my play “The Chronicles of Oggle.”

The story is very close to my heart and many of the events in the play mirror those of my early life.

When writing the play I wanted to tell the story of what it was like to be a kid where The Church, largely, controlled Irish Society. But the story is a message of hope and resilience, and I was so excited when Bennett (who performs the piece) contacted me. It was completely out of the blue. The play had been toured in Ireland and published by Methuen Plays in London. It was by complete accident that Bennett stumbled across the play, and I was very excited that an American audience would hear Pakie’s story.

But the best things in life are accidents. It could be said that a good life is one that is a series of happy accidents.

New Frontier’s production of “Oggle” is one of those happy accidents.”
